Butter Keeper – Rustic Grey
A French-style butter keeper, wheel-thrown in stoneware. The base holds a little water, the bell-shaped lid keeps the butter submerged and airtight, so your butter stays fresh on the counter, soft and ready to use, without going anywhere near the fridge.
What makes this one is the surface. The glaze is a rustic grey, pooling and shifting slightly across the form, unglazed at the bottom where the raw, groggy clay body shows through. And the top of the lid is a textured spiral that lets the glaze break very nicely on the edges.
How it works
Pack softened butter into the lid, fill the base with a small amount of cold water, and put the lid back on. The water seal keeps air out and butter fresh for up to two weeks at room temperature. Keep away from direct sunlight. Change the water every few days and you're done!

Butter that's always ready
Cold butter tears bread. This fixes that, and it looks much better on the table than a plastic container.
