Wheel-thrown in stoneware with a domed top and a small opening to drink from, designed to actually travel with you without ending up on your shirt. Same idea as a regular cup, just with most of the top closed over so it stays where it's put.
The glaze moves from light beige at the top through olive green in the middle, deepening into a near-black brown at the foot. Where the glazes meet and bleed into each other, something new always appears, and if we're lucky, it creates a beautiful metallic break.
Some are thrown with white clay and some with iron speckles; which one you'll get will be a surprise, but please contact me if you feel very strongly for either one!
Because these are thrown one at a time, the glaze layers fall at slightly different heights on each cup as well as the dimensions being slightly different. That's the charm of handmade!
