A French-style butter keeper, wheel-thrown in stoneware. The base holds a little water, the bell-shaped lid keeps the butter submerged and airtight, so your butter stays fresh on the counter, soft and ready to use, without going anywhere near the fridge.
The glaze is a cream base with deep, midnight blue sweeping across in loose, diagonal strokes. Glossy where the blue pools, more matte where the cream holds its own. The color of the stoneware is a dark grey, which creates a lovely contrast against the glaze on the edges and highlights the throwing rings.
How it works
Pack softened butter into the lid, fill the base with a small amount of cold water, and put the lid back on. The water seal keeps air out and butter fresh for up to two weeks at room temperature. Keep away from direct sunlight. Change the water every few days and you're done!
