Butter Keeper – Speckled white
A French-style butter keeper, wheel-thrown in stoneware. The base holds a little water, the bell-shaped lid keeps the butter submerged and airtight, so your butter stays fresh on the counter, soft and ready to use, without going anywhere near the fridge.
The glaze is a soft matte white where the iron in the clay burns through as warm rust spots, scattered differently on every piece. The form is simple and cylindrical, with a flat-topped lid that sits flush. It's quiet and elegant, and will look great on your kitchen counter top!
How it works
Pack softened butter into the lid, fill the base with a small amount of cold water, and put the lid back on. The water seal keeps air out and butter fresh for up to two weeks at room temperature. Keep away from direct sunlight. Change the water every few days and you're done!

Butter that's always ready
Cold butter tears bread. This fixes that, and it looks much better on the table than a plastic container.
