These Yunomi cups are thrown on the wheel and glazed in a soft matte white that lets the clay do its own thing; the iron in the clay body burns through the glaze as warm rust spots, scattered differently on every cup.
The form is simple: slightly wider at the base, gently narrowing toward the rim, with a soft swirl from the wheel that makes it sit well in your hand.
Because these are thrown one at a time, the spots land differently on every cup, and the proportions shift slightly between them. That's the charm of handmade!
