Yunomi cup – Drippy Green

Wheel-thrown in stoneware, glazed in two layers that do their own thing in the kiln. The rim and upper body are coated in a rich green that melts and drips as it fires, pooling into teal where it gathers, with some breaks that creates a metallic effect. The white base glaze catches the iron in the clay as small dark specks, it becomes the backdrop for something much more expressive happening above it.

The form is slightly wider at the base, with a gentle swirl from the wheel and a rim that's thick enough to feel good to drink from.

This one is a one-off. The kiln decides how the glaze melts, always creating something unique that's impossible to recreate - which makes it so much more special to drink from!
